Dental Economics publishes study by leading Missouri dentist, Dr. Jonathan Ehlers, on how dental practices are increasing implant volume, efficiency and profitability by offering robot-guided implant placement.
MIAMI, September 30, 2024 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Neocis®, the world leader in robot-assisted dental implant surgery, and Dr. Jonathan Ehlers, owner of Tiger Family Dental in Sedalia, Missouri, recently wrote a paper on the relationship between implant volume and adoption of robot-assisted implant surgery.
Posted by Dental Economics earlier this month, the in-depth analysis is based on two years of data provided by Tiger Family Dental and ten other general dental practices across the country that place implants with Yomi®.
In “Adopt the Yomi Robotic System to Increase Implant Volume and Profitability for Your Practice,” Ehlers compares each office’s implant volume one year before and one year after robotic implementation. Prior to adopting Yomi, these practices placed between 21 and 761 dental implants per year. After a full year with Yomi, every office had increased their total implant volume. The average growth rate among the group was 137% – with an average growth of 70 implants. One of the practices, located in Austin, Texas, placed 529% more implants in the first year of operation with the Yomi platform.
“The adoption of robotic technology for the placement of dental implants can have a positive financial impact on the user’s practice,” said Ehlers. “The use of robotic technology can increase the implant process and patient performance by fostering a modern, digital practice.”
Robot-assisted implantation is made possible by Yomi, the only robotic system cleared by the US Food and Drug Administration for dental implant surgery. The Yomi platform assists clinicians in all phases of bone preparation and implant placement through simplified digital planning and haptic guidance of surgical instruments. This allows users to place implants with greater accuracy and precision than any other available treatment method. To date, more than 60,000 robotic-assisted implants have been placed.
“There is tremendous opportunity for providers to increase their share of the rapidly growing dental implant market,” said Alon Mozes, co-founder and CEO of Neocis. “And our technology can help them achieve just that. We were excited to see the data from Dr. Ehler, which show how Yomi providers are growing their businesses while providing state-of-the-art clinical care.”
