NEW YORK, NY–(Marketwired – Apr 29, 2015) – Although many people think abdominoplasty Surgery as a procedure to get rid of fat in the stomach area is a common misconception, says Manhattan plastic surgeon Daniel Y. As a more extensive procedure, a full abdominoplasty generally targets the area that stretches from the pubic region to the chest, he explains. For this reason, they have developed what they refer to as a “modified abdominoplasty,” which incorporates various aspects of both techniques. “Using a relatively smaller incision, modified abdominoplasty involves tightening the abdominal muscles from the rib cage to the pubic area, as well as removing excess skin in the lower abdomen,” explains Dr. Broumand in another recent blog post.
