HOUSTON – A new type of technology works unlike anything else to eliminate cellulite and tighten skin at the same time. We met a few ladies who just stopped by a medical spa on their lunch break for a fresh, new and smoother look.
Crystal Rodriguez is 45 years old and seeks treatments at Renew Body Contouring and Med Spa to stay as youthful as possible. “At the age I’m getting, you start to see changes in your body, and I wanted to start now so I could catch it before it caught me,” says Crystal.
Jennifer Hogue is a nurse with Renew in Houston and Solace MedSpa in Baytown and is impressed with her patients’ results.
“This particular device is a little different than normal body contouring devices that are known to only touch 30% of that subcutaneous layer. This one actually goes up to 80% of that subcutaneous tissue to tighten the skin, they kill the fat, as well as help with skin creasing, sagging and cellulite,” explains Hogue.

It’s called Ondasculpt by Sentient. Treatments are done once a month and usually two to four treatments are needed. Renewal owner Katina Kearns believes it’s a sophisticated system. “Well, we’re really excited about this device. It’s a new technology that has come to the United States through France and Italy,” Kearns explained. “It’s been there for a long time. It got FDA approval for cellulite reduction (in the U.S.) because it actually gets hot enough to melt the septa but without harming anything else around it.”
Rachel Felloni can’t believe the difference in her belly after just one month. “It was my stomach! It’s like training, training, training, but you know, babies and things just don’t go back to the way they used to be. I work out every day in a Peloton. So, it was like the same results, but nothing got flatter in my stomach. I think I got to the point where I had to do something if I wanted the result I needed,” says Rachel.
“For mom’s bellies, it’s great. I can get rid of fat and I can tighten skin at the same time that most moms can’t see when they’re exercising no matter how hard they try,” Kearns states. He also says that the treatment works for men to stimulate their bodies.
Our patients tell us it’s more effective than they ever imagined. “I didn’t expect it! They say eight to 10 weeks (for results), but 3 1/2 weeks later, we had before and after pictures, they were really big! Even my husband said, money well spent.” laughs Feloni.
Both ladies say, in this case, the old adage “no pain, no gain” doesn’t apply, as they found the procedure to be painless. “It really feels cool and it doesn’t hurt. There’s no pain at all. It’s very relaxing,” says Rodriguez.

Kearns also says it’s more affordable than many other procedures. “The price is a lot less expensive than liposuction, that kind of thing. You’re looking at sometimes about $500 per treatment, much more affordable, certainly than a lot of other devices on the market, and long lasting results,” Kearns explains.
Both ladies also say they feel more comfortable in their own skin now! “My bikinis are getting smaller and smaller. I’ll put it that way,” says a laughing Rodriguez. “It’s so nice to be in a swimsuit, it just feels like you’re back, I’m so glad I did, I really am,” Felloni echoes.
We tried to discover some cons for you too. Kearns says it’s important to note that when you first start cellulite reduction, the skin may sag for a few weeks, but then tighten over a five-week period. Also, the results usually take six to 12 weeks for full results, so for anyone looking to do this for a specific event, plan well in advance. It will also require a proper diet and exercise to help maintain the results.
