Applicants for membership are asked to complete a form providing data and a description of their work and client base. In finalizing its selections and rankings, the Spear Research Unit uses a proprietary methodology that includes a weighted scoring system. This takes into account factors such as an advisor’s position, reputation, client base, recommendations and testimonials, the company they represent, their level of commitment to the process and some industry-specific criteria.
