90 DaySarper steps up to the plate after Shekinah comes out of surgery.
In PEOPLE’s exclusive clip from the Oct. 14 episode of 90 Day Fancé: The Other Way, Shekinah finally gets her rhinoplasty in Turkey, hoping Sarper can take care of her post-op. But, that doesn’t come without Sarper’s unfiltered commentary, as he compares his partner to a “homeless person” in her “vulnerable” state.
After she is kicked out of the surgery, Sarper immediately comes to her side and Shekinah calls him “my love”.
“Why did you do it yourself, baby?” he looks at her and asks. “For beauty, eh?”
Leaning down to hold her hand, Sarper affirms Shekinah, “You look great like this. You can stay like this. I still love you.”
“I’ll take care of you,” he adds.
In his confession, Sarper acknowledges how “vulnerable” Shekinah appears to be as she comes out of anesthesia with her face all wrapped up.
“She [looks] like [she’s] homeless,” he tells the cameras of his candid reaction. “I mean, no makeup, a cast with a recovery surgery bandage all over.”
Despite the tension of the situation, Sarper reveals that he is confident that they will get through the recovery process together smoothly. “I can do it,” he declares. “I’m the perfect nurse.”
While Shekinah lies with an ice pack over her head unable to move, Sarper feeds her and takes her juice so she can have sugar, per the doctor’s instructions.
He then tries to help her up slowly.
“Sarper is doing so amazing so far with me taking care of him,” Shekinah says later.
After he hugs her, the two take a walk to the hospital, Sarper holding Shekinah around his arm.
“Seeing that side of him is just a reminder that we have something really special,” she tells the cameras. “I think we’ve come a long way and — I’m going to get emotional — I’m just proud of him.”
“One more step, baby,” Sarper tells Shekinah in the hallways outside her room.
“Baby steps, you know, just like me,” he continues to joke. “I’m taking you baby steps.”
“What are you saying? Little by little?” Shekinah laughs before Sarper confirms, “Little by little.”
Admitting that Sharper “really impresses me”, Shekinah tears up reflecting on the trials and tribulations of their past as Sharper prepares to go to bed.
“You know, there have been really tough times and not everything has been easy, but it’s going great and I’m proud of us,” she concludes.
The emotional moment comes after Shekinah admitted she wasn’t sure about Sarper’s ability to care for her post-surgery, mainly because she wanted to cancel her nose job after learning they couldn’t have sex for a month.
“After the surgery, I won’t be my usual self,” she said in last week’s episode. “I’m not going to serve Sarper. I’m not going to entertain him. I’m not going to be all bubbly and happy. I will hurt. So I’m considering spending my recovery with Sarper as a test. I really hope he can move on because it will determine if this is someone I can spend the rest of my life with.”
But Sarper was up for the challenge, even with the forced abstinence: “Right now, our relationship is on eggshells and I want to show that I’ll always be with her, but I’ve never cared for anyone in my life, so it will be difficult.”
