Cape Town – Real Housewives of Durban Star Jojo Robinson recently shared a health concern with her fans, detailing her rush to the emergency room due to kidney complications.
Taking to Instagram over the weekend, the mother-of-one posted touching photos of friends gathered at her bedside, including visits from her RHOD co-stars Nonku Williams and Ruan Scheepers.
“❤️❤️❤️ When you’re perfectly healthy the next minute you find out your species was almost a failure. .” she started
“Long story short, I rushed to the ER at 1am in excruciating pain, found out I had a 1.6cm kidney stone blocking my urethra which eventually led to a back log in my kidney where everything had turned into pussy in the left kidney..My doctor removed the big stone and placed a port in the kidney to save it. I was then told that my kidney was a week or 2 away from failure if that wasn’t the case. In 2 weeks I have to have another surgery to remove the breast as well as the other stones still in my kidney.” Jojo finished.
No stranger to surgery, Jojo opened up in February about her latest trip under the knife, with a graphic reel showing behind-the-scenes footage of the procedure.
She shared details of her brachioplasty surgery to remove excess skin on her arms, emphasizing that The procedure was performed by the same specialist who handled her abdominoplasty two years ago.
“Graphic warning ⚠️ Join me on my arm lift surgery journey. (aka brachioplasty and excess skin removal and liposuction to be exact) ⚠️Warning on this video. I added the skin removed to a photo because you requested it. So don’t go reporting it. Instead, just don’t watch,” she wrote.
“I’ve wanted to have this surgery for a long time, and I finally just pulled the plug and did it. I performed the operation in the best possible way @drpaulmcgarr ( he had done my tummy tuck 2 years ago) he is one of the nicest people and with skills second to none He has the best way about him and is able to make you feel so comfortable throughout the procedure . Also special mention to St Augstines Hospital. What an amazing group of people who treated me better than any 5 star hotel. (shout out to my girl, Andy)” Jojo continued.
“I’m in a lot of pain today, but it’s manageable. It’s safe to say I won’t be doing much this week. I have to wear compression garments for up to 3 weeks, but surprisingly, it’s not that uncomfortable. The surgery was a day procedure and I was able to leave the same day. Although the ride home was very uncomfortable, I won’t lie. I’m home safe and just laying in bed all week. I’m sorry, I’m not sorry. I will update you on my stories as the week goes on. we hope to change clothes on friday. Also, my teddy bear, I love you so much. Thank you for taking such good care of me. Xxx Lots of love Jojo (aka skinny arm bi#the) Xoxoxox” she finished.
