The most dangerous eye surgery
Eye surgery or eye color change surgery topped the list of the most dangerous cosmetic procedures, with a shocking 92.30% risk of complications. Surgery includes cosmetic iris implants, laser pigment removal and keratopigmentation. For those who were thinking about their dull eye color, they could opt for this extreme procedure to achieve those dream light colored eyes.
However, researchers reported that this surgery gambles with vision, carrying serious risks of glaucoma, corneal damage, and even permanent vision loss. This controversial surgery does not meet appropriate safety standards and has not been approved by the FDA. With recovery times ranging from one to eight weeks and an average cost of $12,000, this surgery can seriously damage vision.

Body contouring surgeries take the other top spots
Despite being a natural part of aging, sagging skin is often frowned upon and dismissed. The desire for a toned and sculpted body has led to an increase in the popularity of lower body contouring procedures. A thigh lift, which shapes and improves the thighs, ranks second on the list of the most dangerous cosmetic procedures with a 78% complication rate. Patients who choose this procedure are exposed to serious risks of blood clots, infection, and altered or damaged skin sensation.
Accordingly, the Brazilian Butt Lift, while highly sought after, ranks third on the list of dangerous cosmetic procedures. This procedure involves injecting fat to enhance and lift for a plumper and curvier appearance, but carries a significant risk of fat embolism. Fat droplets can enter the bloodstream and travel to the lungs, brain or other organs, causing severe blockages and organ failure. The body lift procedure has a complication rate of 42% and ranks 4th.
The quick fix can be a quicker regret of a lifetime
Many consider injectable fillers safe due to their quick recovery time, usually within one to two days. However, this rapid cosmetic improvement could lead to lifelong regret. Ranked fifth with a significant complication rate of 64.61%, these quick fixes can lead to worrisome problems such as asymmetrical features and allergic reactions.

Reason for caution
The top 10 also includes buttock implants (21.60% complication rate), arm lift (21.00%) and breast lift (10.40%) with possible risks of implant displacement, nerve damage and sensory changes. Researchers caution against casual attitudes towards these cosmetic procedures.
Contrary to popular belief, it is not a rosy pedestal to perfect the flaws. These cosmetic procedures carry enormous risks and can be life-altering. It is important to carefully consider the potential complications before undergoing any procedure.
