Many celebrities have undergone this delicate procedure because it only requires a few weeks of recovery, allowing them to return to the red carpet and premieres.
Blepharoplasty is also more of an adjustment, so it won’t leave an A-lister’s fans wondering exactly what they did to change their face overnight.
To find out why blepharoplasty has become the go-to for so many celebrities, FEMAIL spoke to a New York-based board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Darrick Adel.

“The procedure made me look rejuvenated and took years off my appearance,” Dr Antell told DailyMail.com.
Since then, she has had eyelid surgery countless times, describing it as a ‘mini facelift’.
“Blepharoplasty removes excess skin from the eyelids,” advises Dr. Antell.
“With age, the eyelids stretch and the muscles that support them weaken.
As a result, excess skin and fat can accumulate above and below the eyelids.
Dr. Antell explained that an eyelid lift, or upper blepharoplasty, “removes excess skin and lifts hooded or drooping eyelids” while making thin incisions while a lower blepharoplasty “removes eye bags and tightens loose skin” without stitches or visible cuts.
Both are usually done at the same time, with three charges.
It costs $15,000 for the surgeon to pay for both the upper and lower eyelids, or $8,000 for just one, $3,500 for the operating room, and about $1,000 for the anesthesiologist, making a total of about $19,500.

The recovery period is only 72 hours, with some swelling or bruising around the eyes.
After comparing before and after photos, Dr. Antell believes that Matt Damon, Jennifer Coolidge and supermodel Giselle Bundchen have undergone blepharoplasty.
Dr. Antell also thinks this is likely Jane Fonda, Renee Zellweger and Tom Cruise have had eye lifts, which many other doctors believe too.
The Bridget Jones star, 55, has vehemently denied plastic surgery rumors and called them “nonsense”, despite many doctors who have not treated her saying it looks like she may have had an eye lift.
Jane, 86, has opened up about getting plastic surgery and spoke to Vogue about regretting having a facelift.
The New York-based plastic surgeon believes Renee Zellweger, who looks incredibly youthful at 55, has had an eye lift, as has Jane Fonda, who has been open about plastic surgery.

While an eye lift can temporarily help stave off a facelift, there are other tweaks that many stars make to help with anti-aging at the same time.
“Often, blepharoplasty is performed with other facial rejuvenation procedures, such as a facelift, brow lift, or fat transfer,” Dr. Antell revealed.
“An eye lift won’t cure crow’s feet, but laser treatment or Botox can reduce those fine lines,” the New York surgeon continued.
The plastic surgeon said that blepharoplasty can also be combined with canthoplasty, which is commonly called cat eye lift surgery, and is also a big hit with celebrities.
Canthoplasty tightens the muscles, ligaments and tissues in the corner of the eye.
