Cologne, Germany: Based in Quebec, Canada, Panthera Dental, world leader in CAD/CAM implant solutions and dental sleep devices design and manufacture, he’s got launchHey a revolutionary new product at this year’s IDS: the Magnet-X. Part of the the company’s Built-in Bar range, Magnet-X is removable wrap-oneround bar that offers a new solution for onell-on-X patients. The Magnet-X was developed with Dr Miles Reed Cone’s technical advice and input permanent fixed magnetic retention which holds the denture in place. This is a world firstdeveloped in respondssee to the needs of geriatric patients.
Magnetic forces guide the denture into the correct position and hold it in place. Because the magnets self-align the bar in the correct position, the patient does not have to find the right position or chew to move the denture into place. The magnetic male and female parts provide a durable solution and firm hold, and the whole solution has no wearing parts to replace.
Thanks to the custom supports included in the rod, the Magnet-X solution adapts to implant angles up to 30° to align the restoration to the mafric plane. Custom abutments attach directly to the implants, avoiding the need for multi-unit abutments.
“This innovation is the result of years of research and development. The knowledge and manufacturing skills of our team and the quality of the magnetic components of the German company steco-system-technik have resulted in the world’s first magnetic bar,” said Gabriel Robichaud, CEO of Panthera Dental.
In addition to the advantages of magnetic retention, the Magnet-X offers the same advantages as the company’s Nylon Integrated Bar: it is compatible with over 200 implant platforms and provides the same ease of handling and hygienic advantages of a removable prosthesis.
“The Magnet-X Implant Bar represents a major advancement in removable treatment design for our edentulous patients. Easy-to-use protocols and maintenance-free components make the Magnet-X rod an essential part of my prosthetic armoury,“ Dr. Cone commented.
