Miley Cyrus thrilled her fans on Friday when she released her new song, I used to be youngalong with a music video.
While the heartwarming song had fans emotional, many also commented on Miley’s smile, which looked noticeably different, prompting fans to wonder what Miley had done to her teeth.

What has Miley Cyrus done to her teeth?
The 30-year-old used to have quite prominent gums, which are no longer noticeable, with Dr. Raj Juneja of Face Teeth Smile Dental Clinic assuming it may have had a gum line.
“Miley probably had gum contouring (rim lengthening) done to improve her gummy smile and even out her gum line,” he explains.
The cosmetic dentist Dr. His Thuha Jabbar Almas Dentistry and Aesthetics notes that Miley could have had a gum lift. “Gum lift is a surgical procedure that aims to surgically address gum-related problems,” he explains.
Did Miley Cyrus have braces?
Before her smile makeover, Miley’s teeth looked a little fuller, as Dr. Raj Juneja points out: “In Miley’s previous photos you can see severe crowding (covering her front teeth) that has been corrected.
© YouTube“This almost certainly means she had some type of orthodontic treatment (braces). She may have had Invisalign clear aligners or lingual braces to make this treatment as discreet as possible,” adds Dr. Raj.

Did Miley Cyrus Have Veneers?
Our dentists believe Miley has had veneers placed on her teeth to create their perfectly even appearance.
© Getty“It looks like Miley has opted for veneers, which is evident from the distinctive shape and glossy appearance of the veneers,” says Dr. Thuha.
For why Wrecking ball The singer chose veneers over composite bonding, notes Dr. Thuha: “Veneers offer the advantage of a minimally invasive process while possessing greater strength, resulting in a longer-lasting solution with reduced maintenance requirements.”
Dr. Raj agrees, continuing, “Miley appears to have had porcelain veneers after braces to improve the size, shape and color of her teeth.”

Has Miley Cyrus Whitened Her Teeth?
Since Miley has veneers, which are placed over one’s natural teeth, it’s unlikely that she bleached her teeth.

Anna explains that there is a smart way to choose the right shade of white for your teeth. “Ideally when you have bleached teeth or choose to have crowns or veneers, you want the white of your teeth to match the white of your eyes.
“So if someone has bleached their teeth and it’s an unnatural shade, it can look very obvious.”
