Marram Health Center has always been a strong advocate of improving the quality of life for the communities it serves, which includes keeping the smile happy and bright. That’s why the health center recently expanded its dental services to its Hebron location, where those in southernmost Porter County and surrounding areas can now enjoy its comprehensive dental care just a short drive away. .
The decision was made when Marram’s team saw the prominence of providing dental care in small towns and rural communities. Those who live in these areas may be far from the dental resources they need, which can make maintaining good dental health a challenge. However, having these resources in their hometown removes these barriers and gives them the comforting opportunity to address any concerns as soon as they arise.
“It was determined that Hebron needed more dental options as many residents had to go outside the community to receive treatment and services,” said Director Jodi Ortiz. “We thought Marram Health Center could help fill that gap, so when we expanded our office in 2023 to include more exam rooms, we also added three operators to take care of our community’s dental health.”
These dental services will be the same as those currently offered at the Gary location, which include dental checkups, cleanings, x-rays, tooth extractions, dentures and emergency care. Whether it’s a routine checkup or a concern that needs immediate attention, the Hebron community can turn to Marram knowing their teeth are in good hands.
“Our dental team is very compassionate and always wants to make sure everyone they see is comfortable,” Ortiz said. “They work together and try to make sure all patients understand their treatment and are equipped with the information to improve their dental health.”
This patient-centered team includes dentist Jihan Doss, DMD, MPH and dental hygienist Tiffany Ballard, LDH. Together, they work hand-in-hand with the rest of the team to ensure a patient has everything they need to maintain good oral health before, during and after each visit.
“Dr. Doss and Tiffany work together to ensure all patients receive quality care,” said Ortiz. “Communication is very important and they work closely with each other regarding patient care and needs, as well as educating our patients on the importance of preventive care and regular dental visits.”
