Kanye West has courted controversy for years, and his latest controversial move involves the new metal implants he’s replaced his teeth with.
There are few public figures more controversial than Kanye West. In recent years, the once prolific and widely acclaimed musician and producer has dined with Nazis, espoused several hateful ideologies, and launched an unsuccessful bid for the presidency.

Despite all this behavior, many are nonetheless transfixed by every move Kanye makes, which apparently includes changes to his mouth. Recently, we learned that Kanye had completely new teeth installed on his head. Here’s everything we know about Kanye’s new teeth.

What’s up with Kanye’s new teeth?
According to a source close to Kanye, who now goes by Ye, he had “fixed prosthetics” by a dentist in Beverly Hills named Dr. Thomas Connelly.
“They are, as the name suggests, fixed and permanent. This goes beyond veneers or grills,” the source he said Today. “And his particular implant is unlike anything that’s been done before.”
Ye’s new teeth are made of metal, and he shared a brief glimpse of them on Instagram.
The source also said Ye’s new teeth were “experimental dentistry to say the least” and were “entirely designed by Ye with the help of specialist doctors and dentists, including Dr Connelly”.
The source was also quick to clarify that, contrary to what some are claiming, Ye has not had his teeth removed. These implants are designed to be permanent, however, so we may never see these teeth again.

Ye’s new implants are reportedly made of titanium and other precious metals “including palladium and platinum at various points according to the properties required by various elements.” The total cost for these new teeth was rumored to be around $850,000, a drop in the bucket for the insanely wealthy tycoon and impresario.

This isn’t Ye’s first foray into experimental dentistry.
While this might be the most radical thing Ye has ever done to his teeth, it’s not the first time he’s been open about having work done on his teeth. In 2010, he told Ellen DeGeneres that he had all of his bottom teeth replaced with diamonds and gold implants.
“I just thought diamonds were cooler,” she said. In a close-up of the teeth, it became clear that Ye’s lower teeth were still in contact under the implants.
Ye’s teeth aren’t the only thing making headlines.
While some people might not be thrilled with Ye’s new teeth, they’re far from the worst thing he’s done in years. In 2022, he was banned from several social media platforms due to his repeated anti-Semitic comments and seemed to double down on those comments at every possible opportunity.
Ye returned to social media in 2023 and since then has been spending most of his time posting pictures of his wife Bianca Censori. It’s unclear if Ye has changed his tune or if he’s just decided to calm down, but given his dental antics, it’s clear that Ye hasn’t completely changed.
