Ye’s Titanium Dentures
Earlier Wednesday, the 46-year-old rapper took to his Instagram story and wrote a post about his new metal dentures. In another post, Ye, as he calls himself, compared his new look to James Bond villain Jaws, who had a mouth made of metal. Jaws appeared in 1977’s The Spy Who Loved Me and 1979’s Moonraker.
The custom titanium dentures were designed by the self-proclaimed “Father of Diamond Dentistry” Dr. Thomas Connelly and cosmetic dentist Naoki Hayashi. Connelly denied that West’s natural teeth had been removed. He told the Daily Mail, “His teeth were not removed. He still has full dentition. Healthy and happy.”
Dr. Connelly said, “It was a pleasure to work with every step of the process. His vision for designing unique art transcends dental advancement.” He added, “The marriage of his Vision with dental science has created a new look that is epic!”
Kanye West’s previous experiment
However, this isn’t the first time the ‘I Wonder’ singer has experimented with his teeth. Appearing on an episode of “The Ellen Degeneres Show” in 2010, Ye said he had his lower teeth pulled out and replaced with diamonds. Kanye West said, “I just thought diamonds were cooler… It sure is what rock stars are supposed to do.” Kanye West later told “Vanity Fair” that he removed his teeth instead of opting for a grill because he “didn’t feel like taking them out all the time.”
