Gypsy Rose Blanchard is prioritizing self-care after her release from prison. The 32-year-old Munchausen syndrome by proxy victim underwent rhinoplasty surgery in Lafayette, LA in early April. Now, nearly two weeks later, she’s officially given her curious fans an update on her recovery thanks to a TikTok video.
“One of the things I’m dealing with is, the inner stitches are still itchy, and let me just tell you – that’s gross, that’s TMI – boogers are crazy!” Blanchard told viewers. “These are huge!”
After the procedure on April 5, he said People that the process “went perfectly”.
“I’m in and out of sleep,” he told the report. “At first it hurt, but I’m taking painkillers. I can’t breathe through my nose because of the package, but that’s coming on the 10th.”
“I want to see it so bad!” she added.
In a separate statement to PeopleBlanchard shared that she is getting ready for rhinoplasty surgery “to change the shape and appearance of her nose.”
“Right now I’m going through a journey of personal transformation and that includes a physical one,” he told the report.
She also took the opportunity to promote her upcoming documentaries, which will premiere Lifetime network this June. “Wish me luck with my surgery and keep an eye on it all this summer Gypsy Rose: Life After Lock Up,” he said.
Blanchard’s friend, Nadiya Vizier, also spoke to the newspaper about her friend’s procedure. “She said she’s a little nervous, but she’s happy it’s going to happen. The main thing is that he wanted a more feminine nose. She just wants to fix it up and give it a more feminine look.”
She added that she hopes people will give her grace during this time. “My main message is simply, people should let her live, let her experience, if they know she’s doing something right or wrong, let her experience it. Let her learn from it. I feel like in a way people are still trying to control her.”

Blanchard’s recent makeover isn’t limited to her upcoming rhinoplasty. Just last month, she surprised her followers by parting her hair, part of her ongoing experimentation with different hairstyles. In a TikTok video from January, she revealed that she had cut off eight centimeters of her hair to donate The Great Cuta charity that provides wigs to children dealing with hair loss.
In the TikTok video, Blanchard explained her motivation: “What I’ve wanted to do for a long time is donate my hair to a charity that makes wigs for people who have hair loss or are going through cancer. I have had my own personal experience with hair loss — not for health reasons. If you know my story, you are very familiar with these reasons.”
Despite her public presence, Blanchard recently opted for a more private life by deleting her social media accounts. That decision comes as no surprise given the intense scrutiny she faced after her release from prison, where she served seven years for the second-degree murder of her abusive mother.
Aside from her upcoming cosmetic surgery, Blanchard’s personal life remains the subject of fascination, particularly her relationship with her ex-husband, Ryan Scott. They connected during her prison term via mail, but have reportedly since broken up.
“People have been asking what’s going on in my life,” Gypsy wrote in a private Facebook post he received People. “Unfortunately my husband and I are going through a divorce and I have moved with my parents to the house down by the bay.”
“I have the support of my family and friends to help me through this,” she continued. “I’m learning to listen to my heart. Right now I need time to let myself find… who I am.”
