George Clooney has expressed his distaste for plastic surgery and other invasive procedures that make a person look younger. The actor, known for his roles in Ocean’s Eleven and Gravityhe remains one of the most sought-after leading men in Hollywood and fully embraces his aging physicality.
It’s already quite common in show business for celebrities to spend thousands of fortunes to look younger than they really are. After all, who doesn’t want the fountain of youth to last forever? However, for Clooney, the laws of nature could never be defied.
George Clooney would rather embrace his age than go under the knife
George Clooney has had silver fox gray hair for years and doesn’t feel compelled to hide it. When asked if he had ever considered dying his hair or even getting plastic surgery to remove the wrinkles on his face, he emphatically stated that he had not.
What’s more interesting is that he thinks it doesn’t work at all – plastic surgery. “I think it really makes you look older“, he argued in an interview BBC. The actor is a big believer in embracing his individuality, even the parts that seem hard to accept, like aging skin or gray hair.
“I’m a big believer in the idea that you can’t try to look younger,” he further noted before adding that everyone should try to look their best at their current age.
Male actors in Hollywood are rarely affected by age, as this is a more common issue for female stars. More often than not, men in the industry are more highly regarded when they get older because it shows that they have reached a certain stage in life where they exude strength, experience and wisdom. Many older actors age like fine wine, as they say.
In the last decade, more and more celebrities are attracted to enhance their beauty with the help of science and technology. On the other hand, others choose to live a healthy lifestyle to stay young in the most organic way. The first option usually draws a lot of criticism from the public, while the second gets more praise.
George Clooney once admitted to having plastic surgery
While Clooney blasted the fascination with plastic surgery, the actor seemed to have contrary beliefs after admitting to getting blepharoplasty or blepharoplasty. This involves removing fat and excess skin from the upper and lower eyelids, making the eyes look more awake. It is also done to cover eye bags.
Clooney said in an interview with via Evening Standard:”I had run out of eyes. Can you tell? I think it’s important to look awake.” While this is not as controversial as botox or liposuction, it contradicts his earlier statement about accepting one’s age and the physical changes that come with it.
The pressure to look young is still very rampant in Hollywood and even celebrities who were once against plastic surgery are tempted to try it.
