Elon Musk, owner of social media platform X as well as Tesla and SpaceX, responded to comments resurfaced by The Follower Host Leslye Headland describes the series as a lesbian fandom with a Star Wars veneer.

During an interview last year at Star Wars Celebration discussing the series, Headland said, “When I saw Frozen as an adult woman, I cried throughout the movie. There was just something about the relationship between the sisters, like the deprecation of the classic “bad guy” kind of fairy tale, you know, the concept of true love between two sisters rather than a heterosexual relationship. It just completely destroyed me.”
He continued, “And I thought, ‘Oh my God, I’d love to make something like, for lack of a better term, Disney.’ This means something that like my parents would allow me to see when I was younger as a queer person, but I could understand as a queer person. And I think I would have had a completely different life. And so I was really inspired by that and I was like, “Oh my God, I’d love to do a story like that.”

Headland then shared that she took that idea and pitched it as The Acolyte, “And so when I was developing this original idea to [Lucasfilm President] Kathleen [Kennedy], I thought well, “You know, it can’t be just that.” When you make Star Wars, you have to draw from what George did [Lucas] was also interested.”
“It can’t be that good I mean – especially if you’re going to put something during the High Republic, at the end of the High Republic in a prequel. You don’t have the Skywalker Saga. You cannot mention a character created by George and/or Filoni. You have to create your own new characters,” he added.

Musk reacted to this video by writing on X, “Reality is actually crazier than the South Park parody!”

If you’re not familiar with South Park’s spoof of the current Star Wars projects, the show lampooned Star Wars in their South Park: Joining the Panderverse special.
Specifically, the show criticized how Lucasfilm creates Star Wars shows by putting a chick in and making her lame and gay. Eric Cartman as an alternate universe Kathleen Kennedy commissions Disney executives and directors to put chicks in their various movies and make them gay and dumb. This includes films about Indiana Jones, Bobby and Prince Eric. In fact, she even requires this to be done in her linguini.

Clearly, Headland’s comments show that he put a chick on the show and makes her gay and lame.
In fact, Headland repeated many of them with Empire interview last year discussing the show. He informed the agency: “It’s kind of a joke. But it was my elevator pitch to Kathy [Kennedy]: “I want to take this revisionist version of female villains that you see in a fairy tale medium and tell it through that lens.”
“When I was a young queer girl, I just hung out with Ursula the sea witch [from The Little Mermaid],” Headland shared. “As a queer girl growing up, if you don’t identify with the heroes, and the villains come out and they’re all queer-coded, you’re like — yeah, that’s me!”
“As a queer filmmaker, you’re going to see some camp. Inevitably! But I would say tonally, our references are darker,” he added.
What do you think of Musk’s reaction to Headland’s comments about it? The Follower?
