BRITNEY Spears’ cellulite denial and reaction to photos showing dimples on her thighs was wrong, according to a New York plastic surgeon.
The cellulite expert explained that bothersome fat deposits are “normal” but urged the pop icon to seek treatment if they bother her because the irregularities in her skin “will become more apparent.”
Britney, 42, was photographed in June walking through Van Nuys Airport in Los Angeles.
The pop star stepped off a flight from Mexico wearing a tight pink mini dress that showed off her legs.
The skin on the Gimme More singer’s thighs looked dimpled in the sun.
Plastic Surgeons Dr. Jennifer Levinewho has not treated Britney, said the star has “always had cellulite”.

“Looking at the new photos, Britney has a problem with cellulite like all women.” Levine he told US Sun.
“The sunlight was coming from above in Van Nuys, making the cellulite more visible.
“Britney has worked hard to get on track and was photographed in a flattering angle.
“But Britney always seems to have had some cellulite on the front of her front thigh.
“This is likely genetic and cellulite will get worse as you age due to sagging skin.
“These tissue abnormalities will become more apparent.”
According to Levine, Britney looked relaxed in a thigh-baring bodycon dress.
The Baby One More Time creator was braless and comfortable in Birkenstocks.
“Britney looked pretty confident in her body and in her tight pink dress,” he said.
“We can clearly see her muscle definition and tone in her legs.
Britney is confident, but cycling about how she feels about her body.
Dr. Levin
“Britney has been working out and trying to get better, so I can understand her frustration with this cellulite.”
The Toxic hitmaker responded to the photos via an Instagram post.
She posted a clip wearing the same mini dress. Britney denied having cellulite on her legs.
“The night before the paps took THIS PICTURE of me walking to my car!!! Same dress and same girl!!! Look I get it, I know my body isn’t perfect but I also know I don’t have cellulite on my legs as my grandparents betray me!!!” her text above the clip read.
SKIN CIRCLE
Levine suggested the pop star could have responded differently.
“Britney was standing up for herself,” he said.
“But instead of denying cellulite on her legs, Britney could have said, ‘I love my body, so what if I have a little cellulite?’
“Brittney is confident, but she rides with how she feels about her body.
“Sometimes she feels good about her body.
“We all have times when we feel great and times when we don’t.”
Cellulite is the term for fat deposits that form under the skin.
It appears as a lump or dimple, usually on the thighs, hips, buttocks and abdomen.
NORMAL PEOPLE
Levine revealed how cellulite affects most women.
“Cellulite is mostly a problem only for women because of anatomy and hormones like estrogen,” she said.
“Anatomically, women also have thinner skin.
Britney seems to be trying to improve it over time, but it’s not always that easy.
Dr. Levin
“The bands connect the skin to the underlying connective tissue and these tend to be more vertical in women.
“In men, they’re crossed, so they don’t cause as much shrinkage and they have thicker skin.
“Over 90% of women have cellulite, so it’s something we need to normalize.”
Britney seems to have started her healing journey in 2007.
She reportedly turned to liposuction at the Advanced Lipo Dissolve Center after having her children, Jayden James and Sean Preston.
Britney also shared her cosmetic tweaks during the pandemic when she posted on Instagram that she wrapped her body aluminium foil to tone her skin.
Britney then tried treatments called Emsculpt and Forma, which she documented on Facebook in 2021.
ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT
Levine suggested Britney combine treatments and commit to long-term cellulite management.
“If you look at the previous photos of Britney’s cellulite, she also had it on her front thigh,” he said.
“Britney seems to be trying to improve it over time, but it’s not always that easy.
“One of her first treatments for cellulite was mesotherapy.
For Britney, it would have to be a full-time commitment.
Dr. Levin
“It’s an injection of a multi-ingredient cocktail that we never know what it is.
“If people want to treat cellulite, they will need multiple treatments and different types.
“You should also treat all the surfaces to make everything smoother.
“That means, for Britney, it would have to be a full-time commitment.
“She’ll probably need to take more care of her foot than she has in the past.”
Britney’s health and fitness journey has also seen her try different ways to tone herself up.
“I run a lot, swim a lot and dance a lot,” said the mom of two MI! News in 2016.
She added, “Tacos, pizza and ice cream. I love sweets. I love Oreo Blasts – they’re the best!”
Britney shared how she’s been eating lots of fruits and vegetables in 2019.
Britney needs to understand that most women have cellulite like this.
Dr. Levin
“I have weak eyes and anxiety and asthma and headaches. This board has helped me so much with those issues…and my weight!!!” he wrote on Instagram.
In 2021, Britney attempted portion control, and in 2023, after her divorce, she claimed her weight “stays the same.”
“I’m usually 135 on the scale…that’s my normal weight!!!” he wrote on Instagram.
In April, Britney shared an image on Instagram of a book about intermittent fasting.
IN THE GENES
Levine suggested that eating fast food and not exercising would be factors that would make cellulite worse or more pronounced.
“The other thing that comes into play with cellulite is diet,” Levine explained.
“This is about yo-yo dieting and anything that affects the skin.
“The sun and poor diet will make cellulite look worse.
“But even if you eat right and exercise, you can still get cellulite.
“Some of it is genetic and hormonal.
“That means there are limits to what we can do about it and what we can control.”
