According to Correo Brazilenze, a preliminary medical report showed that Ferreira was in a coma and then suffered a cardiac arrest last Friday and again on Sunday.
Initially, there were no signs of trouble, her husband told Brazilian media. He returned to their home in Brasilia the day of the operation and seemed to be recovering.

But the next day he woke up with a fever.
Biomedical scientist Grazielly da Silva, who owns the clinic and performed the procedure on Ferreira, was arrested on Tuesday. But da Silva insists she did not inject polymethyl methacrylate into Ferreira’s buttocks.
The deceased’s husband was allegedly told by da Silva when he showed up at the clinic detailing his wife’s fever that “it was normal and she should take medicine for the fever”.

On June 26, Ferreira woke up with excruciating abdominal pain. The next day he passed out and was taken to a local hospital where he remained until Saturday before entering private care.
Her family claims da Silva injected 30ml of polymethyl methacrylate into each of her buttocks, according to the Metropoles news agency.
Da Silva disputed the claims, insisting she had only applied a biological stimulant and suggesting the contamination was caused by the sheets in the influencer’s home.

The use of polymethyl methacrylate is limited.
The country’s National Health Surveillance Agency said the injectable gel should only be used to treat serious diseases, such as polio, if they cause physical deformities to develop.
The police closed da Silva’s clinic because he did not have a legal health license and was not registered with the Regional Council of Biomedicine of Goiás.
