The duo were convicted of murdering aspiring South African porn star Karissa Rajpaul, 26, with an illegal butt lift in a low-rent Los Angeles home. Rajpaul died hours later in hospital.
According to police, Adame and Galaz injected Rajpaul’s buttocks with liquid silicone in October 2019.
The quirky-looking mother-daughter team appeared in court dressed in stylish ensembles with coiffed hair. Much of their own plastic surgery also appeared to match.
Investigators said that before the duo were arrested in August 2021, they had done plastic surgery behind the scenes for low, low, low cash-only prices. He was neither trained nor licensed.

Prosecutors told Los Angeles Superior Court that the women had performed hundreds of butt lifts.
Before her death, unpredictable sex siren Rajpaul had two previous operations at the hands of the couple. After a procedure, she posted a video of herself on social media.
Amateur surgeons charged Rajpaul $3,500 to $4,000 for the operation. NBC reported that a legal butt lift costs between $10,000 and $15,000.
During the fatal procedure, almost immediately the South African fell ill and fell unconscious. It was later revealed that the chemicals the couple had injected her with had entered her blood, causing a embolism.
Mom and daughter called 911 — then took off.
“The suspects fled the scene without identifying themselves or informing the paramedics about the cosmetic surgery. … As a result, the victim died in an emergency room with attending physicians ignoring the silicone injection,” the LAPD said after the charges were filed.

The mother and daughter legal eagles maintained that there was no malice and that they were unaware of the dangers.
But prosecutors said Galaz was working at another salon in 2018 when a patient there died after a bum enhancement procedure.
The USDA estimates that at least one in 3,000 patients die as a result of the Brazilian butt lift. It has the highest mortality rate of any cosmetic surgery procedure.
In addition, Adame was found guilty of three counts of performing a medical procedure without a license, while Galaz was found guilty of two counts of the same crime.
