The VRS platform is part of Align’s broader Physician Subscription Program (DSP) introduced to physicians in the United States and Canada in 2021.

With direct-to-patient shipping capability, physicians can arrange for follow-up retainers to be shipped directly to patients, reducing the need for physicians to store retainers in their office or for patients to travel to their office just to pick up the their replacement. retainers. All shipping costs, logistics and the facilitation of tracking information are managed directly on the Align VRS platform. Doctors can update their shipping addresses or preferences without interrupting patient subscriptions. Doctor Enabled Direct Ship is only available for recurring hold orders. All first retainer sets, whether for an existing or new patient, will be sent to the practice so patients can see their doctor as part of their doctor-directed treatment plan.
Align introduced VRS as part of DSP to provide a simple and scalable way for doctors to offer continuous retainers to their patients and maintain the results of their orthodontic treatment. It is an end-to-end digital platform that helps doctors manage retention subscriptions directly with their patients, including quotes, patient registration, reminders, payment management, renewal and inventory management. VRS is fully integrated with DSP and is available to physicians participating in DSP.
Align™ DSP addresses the needs of practices for limited orthodontic treatment and retention, digitally giving doctors the opportunity to expand their patient market by tapping into new opportunities with touch-up and retention treatments. DSP gives doctors the flexibility to treat simple orthodontic cases or offer their patients a superior, flexible and convenient retention solution. With DSP, doctors receive an allotment of aligners that can be used for either Invisalign Touch Up options or Vivera options over the course of 12 months. Doctors pay a predictable payment each month for limited treatment and maintenance needs. DSP is currently available to physicians in the United States and Canada, and we are evaluating further expansion of the program.
Align expects to begin a limited rollout of the VRS Direct Patient Ship feature with a limited number of current VRS physicians in October 2023.
