By now, it’s safe to say that Kayne West — who now officially goes by Ye — has eclectic taste in clothes, art, and even women. He has proven to be quite particular when it comes to certain aspects of his life, and this obviously extends to any dental work he has. It was recently reported that the music mogul had done some work and it ended spending $850,000 on implants known as a “fixed prosthesis”. Now, after this news broke, some wild details about how West’s gnaissers were cared for in the past have also been revealed.
What did Kanye West do to his teeth?
The work Ye had just done on his dancers has been referred to as “experimental dentistry” according to sources for Page six. The dentures he had fitted are made of titanium and are indeed said to be permanently screwed into his mouth. While the design is said to have come from the mind of the “Jesus Walks” performer himself, insiders say he also worked with Dr. Thomas Connelly to perfect it. One person described the changes made, saying it “goes beyond veneers or grills.”
The man has money, but it’s a lot of cash to invest in his teeth, at least. I guess it shouldn’t be all that surprising, though, considering the fact that he hasn’t shied away from making big purchases in the past. For example, this is the same guy who celebrated his success with Doda in 2022 by spending $58 million on a house that is also a sculpture. However, it has its share of other legal obligations as evidenced by its terms Divorce settlement with his ex-wife, Kim Kardashian. In addition, the father of four has been rocked by the financial successes he took over a year ago amid controversy surrounding his anti-Semitic comments. He even admitted that he had has been “beaten to a pulp” while losing money and business partnerships.
However, it looks like he had the money to spend on his shiny upgrades. This turn of events is certainly interesting, but the reports of Ye’s teeth that emerged afterward are even more curious.
How have you dealt with his dental care in the past?
Insiders claim that Kanye West has long cared deeply about the integrity of his pearly whites — a lot. In fact, one person went so far as to say he was “weird” with them. Anonymous proved this by claiming that West once gave his favorite dentist tips on how to work on his teeth. They also say the Grammy winner had up to a dozen dentists on rotation at a time. This may be because he has had many grills and other mouth accessories installed and removed at various points.
Another source claimed to Page Six that Ye’s alleged fixation with his teeth began after his jaw was broken during a notable car accident in 2002. That idea should, of course, be taken with a grain of salt now. However, in theory, one could understand why a person would want to protect their mouth after such a serious situation.
So far, 2024 has been very interesting for Kanye West. A few weeks ago, he stated that this was it year “no pants” sharing a photo of Bianca Censori, to whom West is still married. I’m not sure what else the next several months have in store for him, but, based on his track record, they could be adventurous for him. More immediately though, after these latest rumors, I just wonder how many dentists he will need to consult for the ongoing maintenance of his brand new titanium implants.
