New Delhi [India], April 17 (ANI/NewsReach): A team led by Dr Ashish Dhadas, General Surgeon and Veneologist at Surekha Veins Clinic, Samata Hospital, Dombivli successfully treated a 24-year-old chef identified with varicose veins with the help of intravenous laser treatment and enabled him to it circulates freely again. The young chef found it difficult to stand for long hours while working due to pain and weight in his leg. However, he has now resumed his daily life with ease after the painless laser treatment.
Patient Saurabh Suresh Morajkar, a chef based in Dombivli has been unable to perform his daily activities with ease due to the appearance of enlarged, twisted veins in his right leg since last year. He consulted few doctors and was given oral medicines but to no avail. The leg veins progressively increased in size and so did the leg pain and cramps. He also developed ankle swelling when he stood for long hours at work. Saurabh learned about Dr. Ashish Dhadas from a friend who had also sought treatment with him. He received immediate treatment, which allowed him to walk freely again.
Dr. Ashish Dhadas, Surgeon and Veneologist said, “During his first visit, Saurabh had large veins in his leg and also swelling in his ankle. Being a chef by profession, his job involved standing for almost 10-12 hours a day ., he was getting pain and weight in his calf, which was affecting his work. Lately, he also developed ankle swelling. We did a Duplex Scan, which is basically an ultrasound of leg veins which confirmed the diagnosis and the cause of his varicose veins.
Varicose veins usually occur when veins become enlarged, dilated and overfilled with blood due to damaged or defective valves that cause blood to move in the wrong direction. Almost 25-30 percent of the Indian adult population suffers from this problem and the problem increases in people above 50 years of age. It is more common in women, as the gravid uterus during pregnancy puts pressure on the leg veins and causes the valves to weaken.
Dr. Ashish Dhadas has successfully treated more than 2000 patients till date with highly satisfactory results. Intravenous laser treatment of varicose veins (EVLT) is an effective, safe, painless and scar-free procedure. There are no significant complications after this treatment and the blood circulation in the leg is normalized. The procedure takes about 30 minutes. There are no dietary restrictions and no need for bed rest. Indeed, the patient can resume all his daily activities in 48 hours! If left untreated, varicose veins can lead to complications such as bleeding, darkening of the skin near the ankle, wounds that do not heal and even blood clotting in the leg veins.
“I am a chef in a 5 star hotel based in Mumbai and my job is demanding as I have to stand for a long time. My world turned upside down as I suddenly couldn’t walk and my right leg got swollen. I felt severe pain in my leg while standing and sometimes even when I was sleeping.I was in a state of shock when I came to know about this condition and I didn’t know how to deal with it.My condition was just miserable and I couldn’t concentrate my work. Thanks to Dr Dhadas and his team which helped me to walk properly again. After the procedure, I resumed my work and can stand for longer hours now. I recommend Dr Dhadas to everyone struggling with varicose veins and seeking treatment before your condition worsens further,” concluded the patient chef Saurabh Suresh Morajkar.
