90 Day Fiancé star Lauren Brovarnick debuted her new metal braces and revealed to fans why she needed them.
Lauren, 36, took to Instagram on Tuesday, September 3, to share a selfie of herself smiling as she got her metal braces on display. “Just in time for 7th grade school portraits,” she captioned the photo, along with the hashtags “momfluencer,” “adult braces,” and “no filter.”
Shortly after the post was shared, several fans took to the comments section to question why Lauren needed braces. “Why do you need braces? Is it your bite or do you have TMJ? Your teeth are straighter than someone who already had braces,” one person commented. Another added, “Your teeth were already straight so I don’t understand the need for braces. Your smile is beautiful! Maybe there’s a need to try to look younger with braces.”
Meanwhile, another social media user asked Loren why she chose to get metal braces instead of using Invisalign. “They’re more expensive,” the TLC personality responded about her decision. “I don’t have the discipline to wear them and it wasn’t the best choice for me. Also, clear braces take months to adjust as they are metal.”

Lauren has been open about her decisions to change her look over the years, including getting plastic surgery to give her a “mummy makeover”. After her revealed her plans to go under the knife in September 2023, Lauren the process in detail during an April episode of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After?
“[It’s] basically a tummy tuck, I’m doing a 360 fat from my chins, my arms, my upper back, my lower back, my thighs and then I’m going to do a fat transfer with that fat to my breasts,” he said. at that time. “I don’t want to put anything foreign in my body. I change my body parts so they go where they need to go.”
Despite her family’s belief that Lauren was perfect before the procedure, she insisted it was “necessary” to have the operation because she had “three C-sections in two and a half years”.
“One of the lasting effects was the abdominal dissection – my abs are split and they’re not going back,” Lauren – who shares children Asher and Ariel with husband Sy Alexey Brovarnik – he explained. “It’s physically uncomfortable. I love my kids, but my body didn’t catch a break. It’s been a really busy three years.”
After the procedure, Lauren revealed that she wanted to have even more plastic surgery in the future.
“The reality is, going into the surgery, I knew I was going to lose some of my fat transfer, but I lost more than I like, especially my breasts,” she told Alexei during a July episode. “So I said Doctor Devlike, I’m happy with him and his work and it’s amazing, and we’ve actually discussed doing a second fat transfer.”
While Alexei reluctantly supported her first procedure, he wasn’t so keen on her plans to continue changing her appearance.
