One of the biggest open secrets in Hollywood is also one of the most popular options for smile rejuvenation: veneers. And among a metric ton of celebrities who probably got a major upgrade with dental veneers, there are those who have been candid about their smile journey.

What are veneers?
Thin materials bonded to natural teeth, veneers are a standard and useful option for smile rejuvenation. That being said, many people think that you have to destroy your natural teeth to get them in shape, but that’s not exactly true.
“Patients fear that their own natural teeth will be drastically damaged to place veneers, but the reality is that most veneers require little to no tooth reduction,” says New York cosmetic dentist Steven Roth, DMD.
According to Houston cosmetic dentist Guy Lewis, DDS, getting veneers takes some time. “The process usually takes about three weeks,” he adds, noting that he has his patients “test drive” temporary veneers to start with. “During this phase, we can adjust and refine the teeth.”
Celebrity Smile Upgrades
Many celebrities go on a smile development journey to whiten, straighten or otherwise correct their teeth. Most of them don’t bother to share the details of this trip since, after all, it’s their mouth. This has led many to notice that Hollywood smiles tend to look the same, and sometimes a little too perfect. You can find posts debating who’s had dental work up and down the web, with cosmetic dentists often joining the TikTok conversation to explain what stars may have had done to their teeth.
In their highly visual jobs, it makes sense to worry about how your teeth look on camera. But, not every smile revival was prompted by the actor himself. In fact, Ben Affleck recently revealed that director Michael Bay and producer Jerry Bruckheimer asked Affleck to “be hot” and get several thousand dollars in dental work to fix his “baby teeth.”
Fortunately, the rest of this list stars wanted to pursue veneer. And their honesty about their process has helped people determine their own path forward for dental work.

Ben Affleck
While we don’t know for sure that Affleck has veneers, we do know that he had some very expensive dental work done to get a “set” of teeth.
“We paid for a set $20,000 pearly white teeth,” says Bay on Armageddon commentary piece. “I’ve always liked low shots that come right under your chin and make you a little bit heroic and he kind of had these baby teeth… So I said to Jerry Bruckheimer, ‘Oh my God, he’s got these babies, Jerry, I don’t know what to do !’ Jerry used a very famous star in an airplane movie with which he replaced the teeth and said, “We did it to him, why not do it to Ben?” So my dentist made Ben sit in the dentist’s chair for a week, eight hours a day.”

Hilary Duff
Duff explained her dental work in 2007 with the now dormant Jane magazine. And while he was honest, he was also up front.
“When I got to LA, I got veneers. But it’s like, why is it people’s business?’ Duff asks.
The reason for her looks comes from the time she was performing, when she broke her front teeth on her microphone.
“In one show, I literally spat out half of my two front teeth,” Duff explains. “I was in some small town in the northeast, at the only dentist. It was 6 o’clock in the morning, and I had a full day of work planned. So they tied my teeth. Then a crowd was waiting for me outside. I was so embarrassed.”

Doja Cat
Musician Doja Cat’s veneer journey began in 2021 when she decided to fix her smile. During the procedure, she was fitted with temporary veneers which later accidentally came off while she was eating a cookie.
“They had to do sections of it, as opposed to a whole section to put the teeth in for a temporary,” says Doja. in an interview. “And the little pieces started moving a little bit because he wanted it to look good. … That side fell into a cookie the other day when I was in the car.”
But the final product, shown live on Instagram right after the procedure, is a custom-made and radiant smile.

Cardi B
We know about Cardi B’s veneers from “Bodak Yellow“, where he raps that he “took a bag and fixed my teeth.”
Cardi B opened up about the emotional toll of her teeth and how her decision to get porcelain veneers improved her confidence. “If you’re not comfortable, if you’re sick of being talked about, then go fix it,” Cardi explained in a video posted on Smile Dental account. “Well, it’s okay to fix it.”
In an interview with AspireTVher dentist confirmed that Cardi B’s veneers cost a total of $12,500.

When model and socialite Jordyn Woods was ready to say goodbye to her gap, she opted for veneers.
